Real Madrid are reportedly interesting in bringing 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Augusto Galvan over to the Bernabeu.
Spanish publication Marca have reported that Real Madrid are showing interest in 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Augusto Galvan. The attacking midfield maestro is currently on the books of Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo but could soon find himself strutting his stuff in the Spanish capital.
Augusto Cesar Galvan Verissimo or Galvan, as he is more commonly known, is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder who has come through the ranks at Sao Paulo. The youngster is highly rated and represented Brazil in the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, which was held in Chile.
Galvan has gone under the radar, of late, despite being highly touted as a bright talent, mainly because of the lack of game time received at Sao Paulo. For reasons unexplained, Galvan has not featured for Sao Paulo in 2016.
The lack of game time seems to have made the 17-year-old disillusioned at the historic Brazilian club with Galvan having no intention to even negotiate a new deal at the club. The attacking midfielder’s current contract is set to expire in December and it looks like he would rather take his chances at another club than run the risk of stagnating his progression.

And, as per Marca, 2017 might bring a whole round of cheer for Galvan. The 17-year-old has come on the radar of Real Madrid, who are famous of bringing in players from the continent to be a part of their youth setups. Los Blancos are eyeing a move for the player when his contract expires with the aim of adding him to the Juvenile, the Under 17 squad, or the Castilla, Real’s reserve or second squad.
Watch the best of the player from his time at Sao Paulo and while representing Brazil here.
The move makes perfect sense for both the player and the club. While Real Madrid do not have to invest any heavy fee to bring the player over to Santiago Bernabeu, Galvan may capitalise on the chance being provided by the Spanish giants, if they so decide, and the 17-year-old might turn out to be the biggest bargain in the recent history of Real Madrid’s transfer exploits.
Zinedine Zidane has already shown he is not afraid of picking the lesser known players in the starting eleven over some of the more established stars and Galvan might just go from warming the bench at Sao Paulo to playing at the historical Santiago Bernabeu one day.
An opportunity to be a part of Real Madrid is the stuff of dreams for almost every footballer; and, for Galvan it may just materialise into a reality, come January.
