Manchester United are reportedly ready to cut their losses on Memphis Depay ,and are willing to par with the winger for as little as £12m.

Daily Star have reported that Manchester United are ready to sell the Dutch international for just £12 million. The 22-year-old has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford after completing a big money move from PSV, and is now on the fringes of the first-team setup under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Depay arrived with high expectations and was even handed the famous number 7 jersey. But, as it has panned out for all who have donned the number 7 jersey after Cristiano Ronaldo, the player has been largely disappointing and now finds himself down the pecking order, behind the likes of Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The 22-year-old has failed to impress new boss Mourinho. The Portuguese manager has occasional praised him and given the winger some hope of a revival at Manchester United, but has not shown enough faith in the Dutchman to include him in the starting eleven. Depay has played just 134 minutes of football this season with, only 20 coming in the Premier League.

The player does not have a dearth of suitors though, in case he decides to call time on a disappointing Manchester United career. Premier League clubs like Everton, Southampton as well as other top European clubs like Sevilla, Lazio, Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan are all interested in the player’s services.

The new asking price means that the interested parties would be even more interested in the 22-year-old. The youngster still has his best years ahead of him and £12m is a tempting fee for the highly rated young Dutchman.

Depay could turn out to be a bargain buy for any of the aforementioned interested parties for a £12m fee. It makes sense for Manchester United as well, as they would much rather take a loss on the 22-year-old than stifle the winger’s career. Depay could just revive his career at a different club and perhaps, a different league, something that has also been suggested by his countryman Arjen Robben.
