Transfer Rumour: Tottenham Hotspur line up sensational £25 million bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha

Crytsal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha is subject to a £25 million bid from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a Squawka exclusive by Greg Stobart, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a sensational £25 million move for Crystal Palace’s wing wizard Wilfried Zaha. The former Manchester United player is understood to be keen on a move to White Hart Lane and is willing to switch boats in January itself.

Spurs were reportedly interested in the player in the summer and have now rekindled their interest as manager Mauricio Pochettinho is looking to add a bit of flair to his options down the right flank.

Zaha was touted as Manchester United’s next big thing after he completed a £15 million move from Crystal Palace. The then United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was a huge believer in youth and saw tremendous potential in the budding Palace sensation.

However, things did not quite pan out as the Scot expected and Zaha was treated as a bit of an anomaly in the Red Devils setup. After Sir Alex decided to call it a day from the beautiful game, his successor David Moyes was not a believer in Zaha and only handed him two first team appearances all season.

He failed to win over the trust of the former Everton boss and was loaned to Cardiff in the January transfer window. After Louis van Gaal took over the reigns, he did not give the youngster a chance to prove himself and sold him back to his former club for a mere £6 million plus add-ons.

Zaha relished his new start at Selhurst Park and has now become one of Alan Pardew’s key first team figures. The 24-year-old scored his second goal of the season in the 3-3 draw against Hull City on the weekend and also won a crucial penalty for his side.

He will be a key addition to the Spurs side that are lacking of quality out-and-out wingers. Christian Eriksen, a predominant number 10, has been played out wide on several occasions this season. Erik Lamela started the season in fine nick, but has withered as the campaign has progressed. £30 million summer signing Moussa Sissoko has failed to maintain consistency and is by far Mauricio Pochetinho’s first-choice winger.

At 24, it may be the right time to snap Zaha up. Attack-minded players usually peak at this stage of their career and playing with a higher quality of teammates can help the Palace star to take his game to the next level.
