Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is playing his cards close to his chest when it comes to news about the first team.
The German has refused to rule out all four key players who are currently nursing some injury issues ahead of the game against Manchester United.
Midfielder Adam Lallana, right-back Nathaniel Clyne and center-half Dejan Lovren had all suffered injuries in the Reds’ last game before the international break against Swansea City. Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum sustained a hamstring injury while on national duty.
Klopp hasn’t ruled out any of them though, and he has stated that all of them could take part in the big clash against Manchester United on Monday.
“[They are] not too bad but it’s a question of perspective, I would say,” said Klopp, according to the official club website.
“In this moment, we don’t know exactly who is available. We all know about the obvious issues with Gini and Adam but they are both not ruled out for Monday.
“I don’t have to make a decision now, so I can wait until I make my final decision and we will have a really good team on the pitch I’m sure.
“Dejan and Nathaniel trained Tuesday and Wednesday so they are in the race.”
It is believed that Lovren and Clyne will start the game, but it is unlikely that Wijnaldum and Lallana will get fit in time for the big game. On the bright side, Klopp can call upon the fit again Emre Can to return to midfield.
Clyne, Lovren, Joel Matip and James Milner will make up the back four, with Can playing just ahead of them alongside Jordan Henderson. The midfield attacking trio picks itself as Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will look to terrorize the United defence.
However Klopp has many options when it comes to strikers, and the manager could go for young Belgian Divock Origi in place of injury prone Daniel Sturridge up front. On the other end of the pitch, Loris Karius is expected to start ahead of Simon Mignolet in goal.
