Luis Enrique has chosen to leave out four first team players for Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Leganes.
After a shock defeat to newly promoted Deportivo Alaves only a week ago, Barcelona will be hoping to return to winning ways against Leganes. Luis Enrique will for once have his fearful strike trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar available for the game.
“We all know that with a 60-plus game schedule it’s practically impossible for any player to play all 90 minutes in every game,” Enrique said when asked about starting the MSN trio.
He has opted to leave four players out of his squad for Saturday’s encounter. Sergio Busquets, who has been omnipresent in midfield for Barcelona, has been rested for the match against Leganes with the Atletico Madrid game around the corner.
Lucas Digne, Aleix Vidal and Jordi Masip too will not feature which means Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto are likely to start as full-backs. Denis Suarez and Jeremy Mathieu are welcomed back in the squad and will be contention for a starting berth.
Per Barcelona’s website, the squad to face Leganes is as follows:
Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Piqué, Rakitic, Denis Suárez, Arda Turan, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes, Umtiti and Mathieu.
