Due to a lack of game time at the club, Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has been offered on loan to Arsenal by his representatives.

According to Goal.com, Sturridge’s representatives offered their client on a season long loan to the Gunners. Arsenal already have Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and have recently purchased Lucas Perez this summer, but given their injury concerns, especially Welbeck, and Giroud’s inconsistency in front of goal, Sturridge might very well well be a good fit in Arsene Wenger’s squad.

The report states, however, that Liverpool are absolutely against this move and will not let the England international leave. The striker is reportedly frustrated at the lack of game time at the club, and Klopp’s preference to play him out of position. Despite being marred by injury for most of his Liverpool career, he’s still managed to score a fantastic number of goals for them.

Last season, he managed to find the net 13 times in 25 appearances despite his injuries. In 95 appearances for the Reds till date, he has scored 55 goals for them. The former Chelsea man has always proven to be a reliable source of goals whenever called upon and were in not for his injuries, those figures would surely be better. His talent is undoubted and his ability in front of goal is exceptional. He would add a significant amount of quality to Wenger’s side. But it is yet to be seen how Liverpool would react to their player being offered to a direct rival. But it is understood that the Reds are absolutely against this deal, and with Liverpool yet to receive an offer for him as of Tuesday, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal make the move.
