Manchester City’s £34.5 million bid for Mbappe rejected.
According to reports in France (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester City have had a £34.5 million bid rejected for French youngster Kylian Mbappe.
Last season, the 17-year-old became Monaco’s youngest-ever scorer when he found the back of the net in his side’s 3-1 victory over Troyes in February. However, he has made just 14 appearances till date for the French side.
Mbappe has also represented his country at this summer’s European Under-19 Championships, and was one of the star performers.
He started Monaco’s opening game of the Ligue 1 season against Guingamp on the 12th of August, but was stretchered off after just 41 minutes and has not played since. He has shown tremendous promise which is why Pep Guardiola was willing to shell out such a hefty sum for him.
It looks unlikely that City will make an improved bid for the player, but they may resume their interest come January.
Samir Nasri joins Sevilla
Manchester City announced, via their official website, that winger Samir Nasri has joined Spanish side Sevilla on a one-year loan deal. Previously linked with Sevilla, the Frenchman turned down the opportunity to move to Turkey in order to play in the Champions League.
The 29-year-old joined City for £25 million from Arsenal in August 2011, and won two Premier League titles as well as two League Cup triumphs and one FA Cup winners’ medal for the Citizens.
“It’s been a pleasure, thanks to everyone in the club and the fans for the five amazing years and wish you best of luck for the season,” Nasri posted on social media.
