Arsenal have finally secured some much needed reinforcements in defence and attack, but an area where they have a surplus of talent is the midfield. The club are now preparing to send Jack Wilshere out on loan, with Serie A champions Juventus believed to be favourites to land him.

Jack Wilshere has been the golden boy at Arsenal since making his first team debut in 2008 as a 16-year-old. However, the English midfielder’s development has constantly been halted by injury. He missed almost the entirety of last season due to a broken leg and attracted unwanted attention for his off-pitch indiscretions.

Arsenal have now decided that the 24-year-old would be better served getting minutes under his belt at another club. The Gunners are prepared to let their highly rated midfielder go out on loan, according to Sky Sports. Although manager Arsene Wenger rates Wilshere, the recent acquisitions made by the club mean that he is far down the pecking order and will find it difficult to get first team action.

Arsenal signed Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny back in January, while Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka was signed from Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer. The likes of Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla have also displayed their first team credentials, as all three were instrumental in the Gunners’ second placed finish last season.

It is highly unlikely that Arsenal would allow Wilshere to join one of their domestic rivals, so a move to one of the other top European leagues is definitely on the cards. A number of foreign clubs would be interested in the promising Englishman, and SkyBet believe that Serie A Champions Juventus are favourites to land him.

I Bianconeri are on the hunt for a quality midfielder after Paul Pogba joined Manchester United in the biggest transfer deal of the summer. They have signed Miralem Pjanic from Roma, but will need to further bolster their squad in order to deal with the absence of the injured Claudio Marchisio.

Wilshere is a holding midfielder who also has the ability to play a box-to-box role, and would fit in nicely in Massimiliano Allegri’s 3-5-2 system at Juventus. However, Arsenal and the prospective club interested in Wilshere have only two days to stitch up a deal before the transfer window closes.
