English giants Manchester United have reportedly valued youngster Adnan Januzaj at £10 million, amid interest from Premier League side Sunderland.

According to Alan Nixon of the Sun, Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is looking for an exit from Old Trafford as manager Jose Mourinho does not consider him a part of his first-team plans. Also, amid interest from Sunderland manager David Moyes, Mourinho will look to cash in on Januzaj for £10 million. Moyes was the coach who handed the 21-year-old his Premier League debut and is keen on a reunion with the youngster at the Stadium of Light.

Januzaj broke onto the scene in the Community Sheild game against Wigan in August 2013. The Belgian came on for striker Robin van Persie in the 84th minute and showed plenty of promise in his cameo. His impressive performances caught the eye of Moyes, who named him in his Premier League squad.

The manager’s faith in the youngster was rewarded as he scored twice in his first start for the Red Devils in a 2-1 victory over Sunderland. The Belgian continued to impress throughout the 2013/14 season and was handed the iconic no.11 jersey.

However, the jersey number change proved to be an ill omen for Januzaj as he failed to replicate the form he showcased in his breakout season. He was used sparingly by manager Louis van Gaal and was rarely part of the first-team squad. Even under Mourinho, it seems that the Belgian is not considered a first team player and as such, is likely to be offloaded.

Januzaj could benefit from making a move to a club of Sunderland’s calibre. The opportunity to work under his former manager and clock regular playing minutes could be just what the 21-year-old needs to bring his career back on the right path. Also, with a decent amount of Premier League experience already under his belt, he could quickly adapt to the Black Cats’ playing style and be one of their standout performers of the 2016/17 season.

Manchester United announced, via their Facebook page, that Wayne Rooney’s testimonial game will be aired live on Facebook. According to Simon Stone of the BBC, this will be the first time in history that a game between two Premier League clubs is telecast live on Facebook. The game will be available to 1.7 billion people across six continents.

Ahead of the game against his former side, the Manchester United captain said (via the club’s official website) that he is looking forward to his testimonial.

“I’m excited – I think it’ll be a good game but also a good pre-season game, which we need going into the new season,” said Rooney. “I’m grateful to the club for granting me this testimonial and hopefully we’ll raise a lot of money for charity.

“I think before the game and at the end I might get a bit emotional, but come kick-off it’ll be a normal game and it’ll act as good preparation for me and the other players, as we’ll get more minutes under our belts going into the new campaign.”
