Premier League giants Arsenal FC has reportedly submitted a bid worth £43 million for Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler.

According to Toby Gannon of the Sun, Arsenal has launched a stunning bid for 22-year old Julian Draxler. The attacker is just back home from France after his side got knocked out in the semi-finals, and could sort out his future within the next couple of weeks.

It was understood earlier that Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester United were leading the chase for Draxler, but Arsene Wenger has acted quickly by submitting an initial offer for the German. The Frenchman was interested in securing the 22-year old’s services last season as well, but the attacker opted to prolong his stay in Germany and signed for Wolfsburg.

Julian Draxler would be a priceless addition to a Gunners side that struggled in front of goal for the majority of the 2015/16 season. Despite having the ingenious Mesut Ozil creating chance after chance for the front-men, the likes of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott failed to make anything out of them.

Draxler can play on either flank, but prefers to ply his trade on the left-wing where he can cut-in and whip the ball into the 18-yard-area. His incredible dribbling ability can put top defenders to shame, making him a good fit in Wenger’s progeny.

Draxler’s arrival could see the end of Sanchez’s Arsenal career

There was tremendous media speculation regarding Alexis Sanchez’s club future, but now with Draxler’s reportedly imminent arrival, the Chilean might be on his way out of the club. It is understood that Serie A giants are eyeing a deal for the 27-year-old, and have tabled a bid that is around the £30 million bracket.

The amount offered by the Old Lady is £5 million lower than what he was bought for from FC Barcelona. But, given Sanchez’s intentions to leave the club, Wenger might be forced into letting the Chilean slip away by accruing a loss in the process.

Sanchez has performed exceedingly well in the Premier League, and stats suggest that he would be a success in the Serie A. According to WhoScored, he netted 29 goals in two seasons in England’s top flight and provided 12 assists. He would be a welcome addition to Massimiliano Allegri’s side and could fill in the void left by Alvaro Morata.
