According to reports, Real Madrid have been sending scouts to watch Harry Kane with rumours they are interested in bringing the Englishman to the Spanish capital.
Last year’s PFA Young Player of the Year has scored 24 in the Premier League this campaign and is in contention for the PFA Player of the Year and the PFA Young player of the year award. The 22-year-old Kane recently signed a contract extension with Spurs that will keep him at the club till 2020, but he along with Spurs’ other top performers are likely to be offered contract extensions after what has been a superb season.
The report states that Kane first caught Real Madrid’s attention last season and scouts were sent to watch him play thrice. Current Real Madrid manager and French Legend Zinedine Zidane has praised the young Englishman’s talent. Zidane said, “Kane and [Manchester City forward] Raheem Sterling are two exciting players for England. This summer in France will be a real opportunity for the rest of Europe to see how good they are.”
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been rumoured to leave the Spanish capital in the summer, with Arsenal reportedly interested. Real are reported to be looking for potential replacements for the Frenchman, including Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
Spur’s summer ahead
One suspects that Daniel Levy is not going to let Spurs’ crown jewel leave White Hart Lane in the summer. But if he did, it wouldn’t be for cheap. Real Madrid are no strangers to paying eye watering amounts for anyone they wish to acquire, with ex Spurs superstar Gareth Bale going to Madrid for a world record transfer fee.
Pochettino’s men have had a superb season and one which may even see them win the title. The Argentine has been able to mould the likes of Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane into title contenders. The future looks bright for Spurs with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, etc all yet to reach their peak. Harry Kane would do well to question whether it would be wise for him to leave, with the future of the London side looking so promising.
