Wenger has no doubts about his future at Arsenal

The under-fire Gunners manager has been harangued and criticized by fans and pundits alike, but the Frenchman recently stated that he has no doubts about his future as Arsenal manager.

Till a few months ago, it looked like Arsenal would finally live up to its expectations and claim a Premier League title after more than a decade of finishing second, third or fourth best in England. However, after the usual mid season capitulation, they find themselves in a tough position in the league.

Much of the blame has been levelled on manager Arsene Wenger, with fans and pundits calling for his sacking. However, the Frenchman says that he has nothing to worry about because he gives his all for the Gunners.

“I have no doubt because I’m committed,” he said. “When I do something I do it 100 per cent and I’m always committed to give my best as long as I’m at my club.

“I don’t worry too much about what people say, their judgement and opinions. I focus on what is important, which is to perform.

“I am appointed to perform and do my best for the club; that’s all I focus on.”

Gunners so close, yet so far once again

A couple of months ago Arsenal looked like they would march their way to a first Premier League title in 12 years. Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have been plagued by injury woes and poor form this season, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity for Wenger and Arsenal to claim the ultimate victory.

However, they have slipped up in the title race and now find themselves 11 points adrift of leaders Leicester City and six points behind their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur who are currently in second place. While Wenger remains philosophical about the matter and even rival managers consider him a top manager, if Arsenal do not win the Premier League this season then Wenger and the board will be under a lot of pressure come summer.
