Harry Kane’s superb run of form has prompted former England striker Emile Heskey to suggest that the Tottenham Hotspur forward is good enough to play for Real Madrid.

Before England’s 3-2 win in Berlin on Saturday, which featured an outstanding goal from Harry Kane, the Three Lions’ greatest triumph over Germany was their 5-1 victory in 2001. One of the best players from that historic match has recently claimed that the Spurs striker is good enough to represent Real Madrid.

Emile Heskey featured in the England squad for four major tournaments and made over 500 appearances in the Premier League and Championship in an 18-year long career. The former Liverpool forward recently spoke about the new talent coming through in the England national team, including the likes of Jamie Vardy, Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

He praised 22-year-old Kane in particular, comparing him to Los Blancos striker Karim Benzema. “Individually, I am so impressed with this squad,” said Heskey, according to the Daily Mail.

“Who wouldn’t want Harry Kane and Dele Alli and Vardy in their squad? Alli would go into a lot of top European teams. Harry Kane is the same. Could Kane go to Real Madrid?

“I would have him up there with Karim Benzema, I really would. They haven’t got the experience but they get it by playing in games like the ones this summer.”

Kane striking fear into the hearts of defenders

Harry Kane is fast evolving into a striker who is likely to carry England’s goalscoring burden for the years to come. Although not a prodigious talent like Wayne Rooney, he has developed into a fine player in his own right — one capable of finding the back of the net from anywhere in front of the goal.

His precision, movement and awareness is impressive and the Englishman still has years of growth ahead of him.

After a slow start to the season, Kane is now leading the Premier League goalscoring charts with 21 goals, two ahead of compatriot Jamie Vardy. His form has also been excellent internationally, with the Spurs striker netting four goals in nine appearances since being handed his debut in 2015. If he can continue this form into the summer, Harry Kane will definitely be a player to watch out for at the 2016 Euros in France.
