It is being reported that the ‘Special One’ — Jose Mourinho — has been offered a job at Old Trafford and is going to replace the Dutchman either post the Chelsea match or at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December, which marked his second departure from the club.

According to the El Confidencial reporter Kike Marin, credible sources from Portugal have confirmed that a deal has already been struck between the Premier League giants and Mourinho.

Another source for this report is Sky Sport Italia journalist Alessandro Alciato, who met with Jorge Mendes — both Jose Mourinho and ex-United hero Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent — for an interview in December, mentioned in his tweet that Jose Mourinho might be the next boss at Old Trafford and the Manchester derby between Guardiola and Mourinho should be insane next season.

Mourinho In — Now or at the end of the season?

Like Manuel Pellegrini, who is being replaced by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season, Louis Van Gaal also has a contract at Manchester United FC until 2017, but unlike the City boss, the Dutchman doesn’t believe that his club is looking for another manager to fill his boots.

Louis Van Gaal told El Confidencial, “I signed a three-year contract with Manchester United and I want to stay here until the end. If it had not been willing to do that, I do not think I would have started my job a year and a half ago.”

While it’s unclear if Jose Mourinho is going to rush to Old Trafford right away or Louis Van Gaal will continue through to the rest of the season, many have speculated that if Sunday’s game against Chelsea results in a loss for the Red Devils, LVG might face the sack and the Special One will replace him.
