Chelsea FC Turned Down £75m Offer for Oscar From China: The Telegraph

Chelsea FC have turned down an incredible £75m offer from Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning for star midfielder Oscar, as per reports from the Telegraph.

Having snapped up his Brazil team mate Ramires earlier in the January transfer window, Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning were hot on the heels of Oscar, submitting a massive bid for the midfielder.

The report states: “Chelsea are believed to have rejected an incredible offer of up to £75 million for Oscar.”

The Chinese outfit are believed to be paying Ramires £10million-a-year as per reports in the Telegraph and had lined up a huge offer for Oscar, as well.

Teixiera, Toure on verge of signing for Jiangsu?

They are also on the verge of competing a £38million signing of another Brazilian, Alex Teixeira, from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

The no. 10 was being chased by Liverpool FC, only for Suning to create a new Asian transfer record with his signature.

The Telegraph goes on to add in it’s report that the Chinese outfit will be looking to snap up Yaya Toure in the summer, with Pep Guardiola’s arrival signalling an end to Toure’s time at the Etihad with the pair having some history. They are willing to pay the Ivorian as much as £30million-a-year.

Suning to comeback for Oscar in summer

Citing the Teixeira and Toure transfer money, the Telegraph reports that the Chinese outfit are cash rich and may very well move for Oscar once again in the summer.

Chelsea FC know this and do not want to part ways with the midfielder at this stage, when he has become a key player in reviving their fortune as they sit in 13th position in the table, currently.

If the Oscar deal would have gone through, it would have become the second-highest transfer fee ever paid to a British club, eclipsing FC Barcelona’s signature of Luis Suarez from Liverpool FC and only behind the world record £86m that was paid by Real Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale.
