Luis Enrique has guided FC Barcelona through a very difficult year, when they were banned from signing any player, and now it seems that he is expecting his just reward from the transfer market.
FC Barcelona was banned from making any signings in the January and Summer 2015 transfer markets, but the former Blaugrana midfielder was still able to guide them to the 2014/15 La Liga title. They are also leading the current La Liga campaign.
However, Enrique has indicated that he would be expecting something back from the FC Barcelona board, after guiding the club through this difficult phase.

“The transfer window will be opened until Monday, so we will wait for a Christmas present. I don’t know if I was a good boy but my goal is keep winning matches,” he continued.
A game of two halves
While Inaki Williams gave Bilbao the lead in the first half, the Catalans did well to come back in the second half of the game, and finally managed to secure the win at 3-1. Enrique lauded this performance by both the sides, as the Catalans now move into the semi finals of the tournament.
“We knew that Athletic would press us and we couldn’t find solutions to that in the first half,” said Enrique. “Their physicality was better but this changed in the second half. It was an amazing match and Athletic’s performance had a lot of merit. We trusted in our possibilities to change the result and I congratulate my players.”
Transfer ‘present’ to be huge boost for Catalans
While FC Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid now face a transfer ban from the summer of 2016, FC Barcelona would be looking to strengthen their squad further by getting new players. The Catalans won the league in spite of being handicapped in the transfer market in the previous season. However, now that they can buy player again, they could turn out to be an even stronger team.
