Chelsea FC manager Guus Hiddink was happy to confirm that there are no fresh injury concerns for his side after a feisty 2-2 draw against West Brom on Wednesday
Chelsea FC strikers Diego Costa and Loïc Rémy were both injury worries ahead of the Blues’ clash against West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, but the former came through in a challenging 90 minutes, while the Frenchman was an unused substitute.
Interim manager Guus Hiddink confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Friday that he had no fresh injuries to worry about ahead of yet another tricky fixture against Everton, who have lost just once on their travels so far this season.
However, the Dutchman confirmed that Eden Hazard would be unavailable for the game, expressing hope that the Belgian could train fully next week and return in time to face Arsenal FC at the Emirates.
Hiddink is quoted by the official Chelsea FC website as saying: “There were no injuries in the last game.
“Eden Hazard is still out, although he is on the pitch working. I hope in the upcoming week he will have full training sessions and then we can decide if he can join us for the Arsenal game next weekend.
“We have to be a little bit careful we don’t have another setback. He must have some tough, intense training sessions next midweek from Tuesday to Thursday.”
Amid intense speculation about a return to AS Monaco, Radamel Falcao continues his recovery from a thigh injury — an injury that has probably prolonged his time in London, even though none of it will be on the pitch for Chelsea FC.
Hiddink confirmed the Colombian would play no part in the game, but that the rest of the squad (excepting Hazard) was fit. “Falcao is out too, we knew that,” added the 69-year-old. “The rest are okay.”
