Rob Holding starts in defence while Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos miss out as Arsenal gear up to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes to the starting lineup that lost to Leicester City last weekend for Arsenal’s Premier League clash against arch-rivals Manchester United.

The first of the three alterations come in defence where Rob Holding gets the nod in place of the injured David Luiz. He partners Gabriel Magalhaes and Kieran Tierney in the three-man backline for the Gunners, with Bernd Leno continuing in goal. Hector Bellerin and Bukayo Saka slot in as the wing-backs on the right and left sides respectively.

Former Arsenal skipper Granit Xhaka has been left out on the bench by Arteta. In his stead, Mohamed Elneny gets the nod in the centre of the park. The Egyptian international partners marquee summer signing Thomas Partey in the double pivot. Dani Ceballos is another surprise omission by the Arsenal manager, with the Spaniard finding himself on the bench.

In attack, ex-Chelsea ace Willian gets the nod on the right-wing ahead of Nicolas Pepe, who scored in midweek. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has gone without scoring in five league games, starts on the left once again with Alexandre Lacazette spearheading the Arsenal attack against United.

Arsenal Confirmed XI: Leno; Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Bellerin, Partey, Elneny, Saka; Willian, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
