Liverpool Confirmed Lineup vs Sheffield United: A plethora of changes from Jurgen Klopp including the formation

Liverpool unwilling to pay Romeo Lavia asking price.

Alisson returns to the six-yard box as Jurgen Klopp makes a plethora of changes to the team that is set to host Sheffield United at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has made a bucketload of changes to the team that started against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, including the entire shape of the team.

The first and major change comes in the form of the starting goalkeeper, where Alisson returns between the posts replacing Adrian. The former was named in the squad for the season but was initially expected to be benched so as to avoid rushing him back from injury.

With Virgil van Dijk out for a very long time, Fabinho has retained his spot in central defence alongside Joe Gomez. The two delivered gargantuan performances in midweek, and Liverpool faithfuls will hope for more of the same tonight and in the future. No changes out wide as best mates Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold start as the left and right-back respectively.

The midfield has shifted from a triumvirate to a double pivot and features Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum in the beating heart of the pitch. That said, we can expect to see teenager Curtis Jones feature at some point in the game coming on the back of an impressive game against Ajax.

Roberto Firmino will start the game in the attacking midfield position, likely to be stationed as a second striker and the primary playmaker in the final third. He will be aided by regular mainstays Sadio Mane to his right and Mohamed Salah upfront. Diogo Jota is handed his second start in a Liverpool shirt and is expected to play on the left-wing.
