Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has thrown in a bit of a twist with the decision to start Luke Shaw in an uncanny role in attack as Manchester United take on Liverpool.

It’s an uncanny Manchester United starting XI that will take to the field at Anfield against Liverpool, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer forced to make one change in attack. Marcus Rashford has been deemed unfit to start and will be out for ‘weeks’. But, his replacement will come as a bit of a shock to both sets of fans. Luke Shaw starts in attack for Manchester United.

The defence picks itself, with David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Brandon Williams starting for the visitors. The midfield sees the usual suspects Fred and Nemanja Matic start in the pivot role. Up ahead, we have Anthony Martial and Daniel James starting in the front four.

Andreas Pereira has been preferred over Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata in the number 10 role. But, the weird name in the starting XI comes in the form of Luke Shaw, who has taken Marcus Rashford’s place on the left. Fans will be a bit shocked, with Mason Greenwood an ideal player to start in attack in Rashford’s absence. Greenwood is on the bench.
