Jesse Lingard is fit to start for Manchester United against Everton, after having missed the Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday with an injury.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recalled Jesse Lingard to the starting lineup for the Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday. The academy graduate did not train for most of the week and wasn’t involved in United’s midweek win over AZ Alkmaar due to a knock, but is fit to start against the Toffees.

That is one of the nine changes that Solskjaer has made to the team that started the Europa League contest on Thursday night, with Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire the only two players to be retained. David de Gea returns in goal, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are back in the Manchester United defence.

Scott McTominay and Fred start in midfield, replacing James Garner and Nemanja Matic, both of whom are not part of the matchday squad against Everton. The Manchester United attack sees Daniel James and Marcus Rashford return on the wings after not being involved in the midweek clash. Mason Greenwood, who scored a double against AZ, drops to the bench.
