Jurgen Klopp has named an expected lineup, with the only surprise that Adrian is fit enough to start in goal for Liverpool against Southampton.

Liverpool fans will breathe a sigh of relief after seeing their starting eleven against Southampton. Adrian was reportedly a doubt after being injured in a bizarre fan incident in the aftermath of the penalty shootout win over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup. But, the Spaniard starts in goal for Liverpool.

Joel Matip returns at the heart of Liverpool defence alongside Virgil van Dijk, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson completing the back four. The midfield though, is an interesting prospect, with James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starting for Liverpool. Georginio Wijnaldum is likely to be the number 6 in midfield for the Reds against Southampton.

The front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah is an ominous prospect for Southampton, who see two of their previous stars in Mane and van Dijk return to St. Mary’s.

As far as the substitutes are concerned, Adam Lallana is an intriguing name. The Englishman has not been among the minutes in the recent few months, thanks to injuries and it will be interesting to see whether the playmaker will indeed come on at his former hunting ground.
