Jose Mourinho has named Michael Carrick as the captain and the veteran is set to lead the Manchester United side out against Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa League tie.

Jose Mourinho has chosen to start Antonio Valencia, who missed the last two matches due to injury at the right-back position while Sergio Romero starts in goal again.

The Portuguese praised Luke Shaw for his performance over the weekend but the Englishman has only earned an appearance on the bench on the night with Matteo Darmian given a start.

In the more offensive front, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard both start with Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick in the midfield while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is entrusted with the duty to lead the attack. The lineup looks like a 4-4-2 or a converted 4-2-3-1 with Carrick and Pogba as the pivot.
