Belgium were spared the blushes against a 9-man Greece in their Group H World Cup Qualifying match by Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, who ensured that his side left the The King Baudouin Stadium with a point to their name with a superb 89th minute strike.

Roberto Martinez’s men were behind for a large portion of the game and it seemed as if the Greeks would manage to pull off a huge upset. They were playing with 10 men for the past 24 minutes and had essentially parked the bus and put 9 players on defensive duty.

However, the visitors eventually lost focus for a second and that’s all that the former Chelsea man needed. Dries Mertens floated in the ball from the left flank on to the chest of Lukaku, who held off Sokratis Papastathopoulous, controlled the ball and smashed in a low drive into the bottom corner to send the home fans into a frenzy.
