After squaring off against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, Real Madrid face the same opposition in La Liga on Sunday. Los Blancos currently sit atop the standings with 40 points – five adrift of third place Sevilla.
If Los Nervionenses win this contest, they will end Real’s 40 game unbeaten run, and also close down the gap on them to just two points. That being said, failure to win could see Sevilla lose out considerable ground on their fellow title contenders.
Their task will not be made an easy, given the availability of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese was announced fit by manager Zinedine Zidane, and is expected to start against Sevilla.
Ronaldo has found himself at home at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, scoring eleven goals in his six games played there. He is known for scoring vital goals for the Spanish outfit, and Sevilla look to be one of the sides he prefers finding the back of the net against.
