Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum replaces the injured Adam Lallana in the playing XI, while summer signing Sofiane Boufal starts for the hosts.
Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane face a return to the St. Mary’s stadium, with Jurgen Klopp opting for the strongest possible XI after the international break. Loris Karius starts between the sticks for the visitors while Daniel Sturridge has to be satisfied with a place on the bench yet again.
The Saints welcome back Shane Long, but he’s fit enough only for a place on the bench. Front-line trio of Charlie Austin, Nathan Redmond and Sofiane Boufal are sure give problems to the Liverpool defense.
