Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new contract at Real Madrid, the club confirmed on Monday.
Ronaldo has signed a new 5-year contract, which will see him stay at the club until he is 36, should he see it out in it’s entirety.
The three-time world player of the year put pen to paper on a deal which will reportedly see him earning £365,000 a week.
Ronaldo is Real’s all-time leading scorer with a whopping 371 goals in just 360 appearances. He has won eight trophies with the club so far, including two Champions League trophies and a La Liga title.
About his contract, Ronaldo had this to say :
“I’m going to be here for another five years, it is not going to be my last contract, let it be known, but it is very special.”
“I’m at the best club in the world… Everyone knows what my thoughts are, I want to continue being the best, I want to wear this shirt with pride.” he said.
“I’m sure I’m going to contribute the same over the next five years as I have in my time here, scoring goals and winning titles.”
Zinedine Zidane also spoke of his pride at Ronaldo’s new contract, and expressed his wish to see Ronaldo retire at the club just as he did.

Ronaldo reckons he can keep playing until he's 41. I have no doubt about it – the man's a demigod.
