The Legends of Football ceremony,, which was a celebration of 25 years of the Premier League, was held on Wednesday night with a guest list consisting of the biggest icons of the Premier League.
The likes of Alan Shearer, Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen, together with other players who have scored 100 or more goals in the Premier League, voted Dutchman Robin van Persie’s volley against Aston Villa as the best goal of the Premier League era.
The volley was part of a hat-trick that the Dutchman scored in Manchester United’s final game of their 2012-13 Premier League winning season.
