Summer signing Marcos Alonso has been handed his first start for Chelsea and will occupy the left-back position.

Branislav Ivanovic’s underwhelming displays at right-back has seen Conte banish him to the bench with Cesar Azpilicueta taking his place. David Luiz and Gary Cahill start as centre-backs in the continued absence of John Terry.

In midfield, Victor Moses has been given a rare start and will feature down Chelsea’s right wing. Eden Hazard will be deployed rather centrally with Willian occupying the left. N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic look to be deployed slightly deeper while Diego Costa continues to lead the line.

For Hull, Mbokani leads the attack with Robert Snodgrass and Markus Henriksen offering threat from the flanks. Jake Livermore continues to start in central defence and will partner club captain Curtis Davies.
