Jurgen Klopp has chosen to start with German Loris Karius in goal after the keeper impressed in the midweek EFL Cup tie against Derby County. Clyne and Milner retain their place on either side of the defence with Klopp going with the pairing of Matip and Klavan in the centre.

Meanwhile, Mike Phelan has made just two changes to his side on his birthday with David Marshall replacing Jakupovic and Ryan Mason coming into the midfield as both the inclusions impressed in the midweek match against Stoke City.
