Manchester United reserves put up a fine showing in front of their home fans as they beat Derby County 3-2 in a Premier League 2 match. Scott McTominay and Charles Vernam record braces for their sides.

The hosts grabbed the lead through midfielder McTominay’s well-timed shot from close range, but the Rams clawed their back into the game through Charles Vernam.

In the second period, Josh Harrop’s penalty gave the Red Devils a momentary lead but Vernam played spoilsport yet again through an impressive headed goal.

However, it was McTominay who wrote the headlines with a late goal to secure maximum points for the hosts.
