On Wednesday, German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger played his final game for Die Mannschaft against Finland.

 

German footballing legend Bastian Schweinsteiger was given an emotional send-off prior to his final international game against Finland. The Manchester United midfielder represented his nation on 121 occasions and scored 24 goals for them.

He was felicitated before the game for his extraordinary international career and was given an ovation by the 30,121 fans in attendance at Borussia Park in Monchengladbach. Tears rolled down the the 32-year-old’s cheeks as he was overwhelmed by the occasion. Take a look:
