In one of the most shocking deals on deadline day, Arsenal fan favourite Jack Wilshere joined domestic rivals AFC Bournemouth on loan. While many fans were sad to see him go, some of them immediately demanded that his Gunners shirt be handed to German midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Wilshere has been the Gunners’ golden boy since making his first team debut for the club as a 17-year-old. However, the performance of Arsenal No. 11 Mesut Ozil last season means that there are many fans who think that Wilshere’s no. 10 shirt rightfully belongs to the German play-maker.

Most of the fans were extremely sad to see Wilshere leave the club. The 24-year-old has been one of the biggest fan favourites at the Emirates for almost a decade, but his dubious injury record has waylaid a promising career. Many are hoping that he can show what he’s capable of at Bournemouth, even though they find it surreal that he’s leaving the club.
