Demi Mitchell scored from an audacious lob over the Leicester Reserves goalkeeper in a 1-0 win for the Manchester United Reserves.

Manchester United youngster Demetri Mitchell showed a spark of brilliance to push the Reserves to a 1-0 win over Leicester Reserves. With less than three minutes remaining, United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone kicked the ball forward for Mitchell, who caught the defence napping. The youngster did not take a single touch to bring the ball down but instead attempted a wonderful lob over the Foxes goalkeeper who was taken by surprise and couldn’t reach the ball as it sailed over his head, into the net.

Mitchell’s progress was restricted last season due to a string of injuries and the attacker would now hope to emulate fellow academy product Marcus Rashford’s rise to the first team.
