Atletico Madrid triumphed over Spurs in their pre-season friendly, with their Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak stopping a Ryan Mason effort from point blank range.
It was a familiar story for Atletico Madrid, as captain Diego Godin headed in the winner in a match where all the momentum was with the opposition. Tottenham put in a decent effort, but couldn’t find their way past last seasons Champions League finalists.
The closest Spurs came was shortly after the second half, when midfielder Ryan Mason smashed in an effort from inside the penalty box. However Atletico keeper Jan Oblak managed to pull off a spectacular save to deny the young Englishman.
