Most expensive players of all-time:
1 – Gareth Bale (£86m)
2 – Cristiano Ronaldo (£80m)

While some would say that the 28-year-old has justified his price tag by scoring 36 goals from 35 Serie A appearances last season, fans on Twitter were not exactly convinced that Higuain is worth that much. Here are some of the best Twitter reactions we found.

Higuain becoming the 3rd most expensive player in history is just plain ridiculous. The transfer market is overinflated

I could analyze the deal all my life, but I would never understand how someone can pay €90M for Higuain now. Mindblowing.
