Sam Allardyce has been appointed as the new Three Lions boss on an initial two-year deal.
The former Bolton boss led Sunderland away from relegation last season and has now been appointed to steer the English national squad clear of a long history of under-performance in major competitions. The FA, through their website, have confirmed the appointment of the Sunderland boss who has now vacated the Tyneside seat.
FA chief executive Martin Glenn reiterated what millions of fans and pundits have been saying on the social media.
“Sam Allardyce is the right man for the England job.”
The new England manager was delighted to have got the job and while talking for the first time as the Three Lions head coach, said,“I am extremely honoured to be appointed England manager. For me, it is absolutely the best job in English football. I know we have talented, committed players and it is time for us to deliver.”
Twitter was set abuzz as soon as the English FA announced Big Sam’s appointment.
Some legends and former players took to Twitter to congratulate the Englishman as well as sound out their happiness at his appointment.
.@FA Congratulations and good luck to Sam Allardyce on being appointed as @England manager.

Social media, though, had its fair share of people reacting negatively to the news with some of them questioning the credibility of the appointment.
Appointing Sam Allardyce is like buying FIFA 99′ when FIFA 17′ is out! Its outdated.

I just hate seeing Sam Allardyce coaching any team because he lacks tactics and any ability at all to manage a national team
