Teenager Marcus Rashford opened the scoring and Rooney rolled back the years to give England a 2-1 victory in their pre-Euro friendly against Australia.
Wayne Rooney scored a lovely goal to put England 2-0 up against the Socceroos after his United teammate Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for them in the 3rd minute. In the 55th minute, Rooney took a touch and then placed it into the back of the net from just outside the penalty area to score his 52nd goal for England.
Wazza in now 3 goals ahead of England’s second-highest goalscorer Sir Bobby Charlton after surpassing him during the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
