Only hours following Manchester United’s FA Cup triumph over Crystal Palace, a number of sources confirmed Jose Mourinho’s move to United, with an announcement reportedly set to be made by the club on Monday.
Manchester United and their army of loyal supporters were reveling in an FA Cup triumph at Wembley completed in a fashion reminiscent of the good old times under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, just as Louis Van Gaal was enjoying his first success in two years as the manager at Old Trafford, elsewhere Jorge Mendes had set the news ablaze, confirming reports of Jose Mourinho completing his move to Manchester as the next boss of the Red Devils.
The Portuguese had long been touted as the favourite to replace Louis Van Gaal should the club choose to do so. However, when United lost out on Renato Sanches, also a client of Mendes’, it was seen as a breakdown of talks between the club and the agent in which case Mourinho’s move to the Red Devils seemed unlikely. The deal, however, as Mendes has confirmed, is back on the table as Mourinho is expected to fly to Manchester and complete the necessary procedures in time to be unveiled by the club on Monday.
Good way for LVG to bow out. But that’s it. Club plan to tell him Monday & announce Mourinho new boss Tuesday.

Even amid the glory & the glint of silverware, football 2016 shows its true colours as a pretty shabby business. #LVG out #Mourinho in.
