Italian full-back Matteo Darmian scored a stunning goal to open his account for Manchester United, helping the Red Devils secure a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Louis van Gaal played right-back Matteo Darmian on the left for the mid-week game against Crystal Palace and the Italian proved to be the difference maker for the Red Devils. His innocuous cross was tapped in for an unfortunate own goal by Palace defender Damien Delaney to give Manchester United the lead early in the match.
The second goal was all Darmian though, as the Italian latched on to the ball just outside the penalty box and smashed it against the post and into the net in a beautifully placed finish.
