Liverpool managed to trounce arch-rivals Manchester United in their first ever European meeting, thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino.

 

Liverpool managed to break their four-match losing streak to Manchester United with a convincing 2-0 Europa League win at Anfield on Thursday. A contentious first half-penalty converted by Daniel Sturridge put the Reds on top early in the game.

Later, a second-half strike from Liverpool’s new Brazilian magician Roberto Firmino sealed the deal for Klopp’s men. United now face an uphill task at Old Trafford in the second leg.
