After trailing 7-0 in the first leg of the semi-finals of Copa del Rey, Gary Neville’s Valencia CF side were looking for some redemption, as they led the charge in the second leg at Mestalla with a first-half goal by Negredo. But a late equaliser by Wilfrid Kaptoum ensured the 29th unbeaten game at a stretch for FC Barcelona.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Barcelona winning 8-1 on aggregate and advancing to the finals, where they’ll likely face Sevilla FC. Sevilla is currently leading 4-0 from the first leg against Celta Vigo, and are the favourites to enter the Copa del Rey finals.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to Gary Neville and Phil Neville’s team being outclassed out of the Copa del Rey.

Valencia goal kinda came out of nothing, Barca were coming back from a corner and long ball over top caught em all out.

1-0 Valencia. Negredo sent completely clear on break, hits Ter Stegen with first effort, but bundles loose ball over line in end.

Poor old Gary Neville. Kaptoum saves Luis Enrique’s unbeaten run – which he didn’t care about – and stops Neville getting a ‘symbolic’ win
