The match between the Red Devils and the Magpies at St James’ Park was expected to be a tame encounter, given the lack of goals and lack of form that the two teams have shown so far this season. But it turned out to be a 6-goal roller coaster ride that left the fans of both teams entertained to the core.
Manchester United had taken a 2-0 lead, before Newcastle scored a goal in the dying minutes of the first half and then equalized in the 67th minute through an Aleksander Mitrovic penalty. The Red Devils thought they had it in the bag after taking the lead again through Wayne Rooney, but a 90th minute scorcher by Paul Dummett ensured that both teams went home with a point from a highly entertaining game of football.

How the hell has THIS Newcastle United against THIS Manchester United turned out to be one of the most entertaining games of the season?

Football bloody hell. Just when you think #mufc are bouncing back Dummett scores the equaliser with a stunner! #munnew #3-3 — Geert Langendorff (@glangendorff) January 12, 2016
Captain Wayne Rooney was in sublime form for Manchester United, playing a part in all of their goals and showing everyone a glimpse of what he’s capable of when in form…

But in the end, the fact remains that the Red Devils did drop points against a relegation struggling side and the fans were very aware of this, despite seeing the attacking flair they so craved for…
Disappointed in the outcome #MUNNEW. Good performance by @ManUtd and @WayneRooney. Would not want to be @Fellaini, lingaard in dressing room — Abhijit Dasgupta (@abhi790428) January 12, 2016
Mixed feelings. We showed promise up front and Rooney was class but football is a results game and a draw is not enough. #mufc #MUNNEW #bpl

Shame unto @ManUtd for failing to hold on to a win in their last couple of #BPL games…this is so pathetic….#MUNNEW — Prince Obi (@princet83) January 12, 2016
