Liverpool FC take on Exeter City in the FA Cup 3rd round replay, having seen their make-shift side escape with a 2-2 draw in the last game.
The Reds are reeling from the sucker punch of the loss against arch rivals Manchester United at Anfield. Having also only drawn against Exeter in the previous tie, they will hope to put the pain of the derby loss behind them and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Exeter, on the other hand, have the chance to travel to Anfield and write their name in the FA Cup folklore by taking the scalp of one of the biggest clubs in England.
Jurgen Klopp vs Paul Tisdale
Christian Benteke is likely to start up front, having been kept out of the side by Roberto Firmino. Youngsters Tiago Ilori, Ryan Kent and Cameron Brannagan are also expected to play a part in the game, with Ilori expected to make a start.
Paul Tisdale and his Exeter City boys will have to play out of their skin to have any chance of beating Liverpool FC, having just about gotten through them the last time, only for a late Liverpool FC strike. They will be hoping to line up in a tight formation, and will defend deep, hoping to nick a goal against the Reds’XI.
Liverpool FC have struggled against sides that sit deep, with the lack of cutting edge in the side a major reason for the failure. Tisdale will be hoping to exploit this weakness in the Liverpool FC side.
Key Battles
Christian Benteke vs Troy Brown
The Exeter City defence will have to be at their best if Benteke has to be stopped, and defender Brown will be tasked with the job of stopping the Belgian for taking the game away from them.

Jordan Henderson vs David Noble
Henderson’s runs from the midfield will have to be kept in check for Exeter City to have a chance of getting the better of their opponents. The 33 year old midfielder David Noble will be expected to use his experience to nullify the threat of the midfield, and especially Jordan Henderson.
Tom Nicholls vs Tiago Ilori
Liverpool FC’s injury problems meant that manager Jurgen Klopp had to recall defender Tiago Ilori from on loan at Aston Villa. He made his long awaited Liverpool FC debut when he was slotted right in the starting XI against Exeter City.
The Portuguese will be given the job to keep Nicholls at bay and ensure a safe passage for Liverpool FC to the 4th round of the FA Cup.
