Liverpool FC midfielder Joe Allen had been nicknamed the ‘Welsh Xavi’ by ex-manager Brendan Rodgers and lived up to that name (jury’s still out on that one) with an assist to help the Reds score the only goal against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
If there’s one player at Anfield who misses Brendan Rodgers, it has to be Joe Allen, who was once famously dubbed as the ‘Welsh Xavi’ by the former Liverpool FC manager. Allen did justice to the nickname in Liverpool FC’s Capital One Cup match against Stoke City, by providing a great assist for Jordan Ibe to score in the 37th minute and help the Reds win the match 1-0.
Some may still be wondering whether that was intentional or not. Have a look at the video below and judge for yourself.
