There is good news for the FC Barcelona fans, as their two summer signings Arda Turan and Alexis Vidal will now be eligible to play for the Catalan side, with the start of the new year 2016.
FC Barcelona had a transfer ban imposed upon them in 2015, which prevented them from signing any players during the year. While they had signed both Turan and Vidal from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid and Sevilla respectively, neither of the two players were eligible to play in the first half of the season.
As 2015 is over, the duo is now set to take part in the FC Barcelona team, in the second and perhaps the most crucial half of the season.
Neither of the two players have played for six months, and are reportedly not fit enough to jump straight into the matches. However, manager Luis Enrique believes that both the player are quite close to being fully match fit, and it won’t be long before they feature for the Blaugrana.
“The performances of Arda and Aleix Vidal will show how much they have adapted to the team,” Enrique was quoted saying in the Sports Mole. “I am happy that they are almost ready to make their debut. They have been waiting for this moment for a long time. They will add something extra to the team that we need.”
Turan, Vidal addition to boost FC Barcelona
.
While the Blaugrana are in no immediate danger regarding injuries, they do look like they could do with a couple of new players in their squad. The first team XI looks like it is one of the strongest sides in the world, but the addition of Turan and Vidal would boost the squad, and ease the physical pressure on some of their ageing players.
While Turan could ease the pressure on club captain Andres Iniesta, the addition of fullback Vidal would help the 32-year-old Dani Alves get some respite of the demanding European season.
