Zico Satisfied With A Point As FC Goa Go Top After 2-2 Draw At Pune

FC Goa leapfrogged Delhi Dynamos on top of the ISL table as they played out an absorbing 2-2 draw against FC Pune City at the Balewadi stadium in Pune. Manager Zico hailed new signing Rafael Luiz, who scored for his new side and led the line brilliantly. Zico also spared a word for the rest of the team, saying he is happy with a point against top class opposition.

In what was an entertaining game of football, FC Goa controlled the game in the first half to a large extent, as they responded perfectly after going behind to Eugenson Lyngdon’s goal. However, Adrian Mutu had other ideas as he chose the last minute of stoppage time to open his account for the season.

On Rafael’s performance

However, Zico was pleased with Rafael Luiz’s display, as he produced yet another impressive performance.

.

” We knew he is a very good player and are glad that he came here from Brazil “

A good point against tough opposition

FC Pune City made a great start to their campaign, and although they have had a few poor results ( the most notable one being the 2-0 defeat away at Kerela ) of late, David Platt’s men are still the team to beat in this season’s ISL.

” We would have loved to take away three points tonight but one point is also good. We were the better team and we approached the game like any other away game, but we were vary of Pune “

Zico will certainly have an eye on the play offs, as his team has put a string of good performances that could see them cement their place in the top four.
