Arsenal FC manager has hailed the performance of his side in the 3-0 win against Manchester United, declaring it as a statement of intent from the London side.
Arsenal FC completely outplayed Manchester United in the Premier League tie last night to leapfrog them in the table.
Goals from Alexis Sanchez (2) and Mesut Ozil in the first 20 minutes condemned United to a 3-0 loss, as the Gunners opened up a make-shift United defence consisting of Daley Blind and Ashley Young at will.
Wenger hails his side’s performance
Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger was being vilified after the loss against Olympiakos. But, following this win, surely, all is forgotten.
Hailing his side’s performance, the French manager was quoted saying by ESPN FC: “We started strong and pressed very high. We did not give them any chances to score, and that was vital. We surprised them with our start.
“From Petr Cech to Theo Walcott, we only had superb performances.
“I have managed many strong teams and never had one that played 60 games at the same level. You have to accept that, we are human beings.”

Wenger hails the win as a statement of intent
The win helped Arsenal FC climb to second in the table, with the Gunners just a couple of points off the top of the table.

“To win in a big game is always a statement,” Wenger said. “We are in it, we are two points off the league leaders, Manchester City, so I hope that result today will give us belief to fight for it.”
“I’ve been at the club for 19 years and I know what you want is a strong response in a big game when you have a big disappointment,” Wenger said. “But we [took it in] perspective and focused on what is important. It’s us and not too much what was said and we focused on what is important in the game and that is part of being at the top level.
