Manchester United came back from being a goal down to win against Wolfsburg in last night’s crucial Champions League group stage fixture, with Juan Mata playing a key role in helping the Red Devils get all the three points.
The Old Trafford outfit were a goal down in only the 4th minute when Daniel Caligiuri beat David De Gea. Mata then converted from the penalty spot to equalize for Manchester United, before providing an outrageous back-heel pass to Chris Smalling to slide in the winner.
However, manager Louis Van Gaal did not find anything special about Mata’s performance and insisted that he has seen the diminutive Spaniard perform better. The Dutchman hailed Smalling’s performance against the German side and praised the ‘outstanding’ goal scored by the defender.
