[Video] Thierry Henry Hails Mathieu Flamini’s ‘Desire’ Following Stunning Double Against Tottenham

Arsenal FC legend Thierry Henry was full of praise for his former teammate Mathieu Flamini, after the midfielder scored a stunning brace in the Gunners’ Capital One Cup third round win over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur last night.

Thierry Henry and Jamie Redknapp were the pundits for Sky Sports during last night’s North London derby in the third round of the Capital One Cup, and the former Arsenal FC striker hailed Flamini’s immense desire to get into goal-scoring positions.

The 31-year-old opened Arsenal FC’s scoring when he bundled home from close range after Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm was only able to parry Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s speculative effort from range. Flamini scored his second 12 minutes before time, when he connected with a stunning volley from outside of the box.

Henry and Redknapp praised Flamini’s professionalism, while the duo also lightheartedly joked about Flamini’s positioning for the two goals, as the 31-year-old was essentially deployed in a defensive midfield role.
